Ahhh Summer! Sadly, not every day can be spent outside in the sunshine; sometimes there are cold, rainy days to contend with. But there are plenty of indoor games and activities that you can do whether your family is stuck in a hotel room or inside your own home. We found a number of excellent websites with kids activities for rainy days. Here are some of our favourite ideas:
POPSICLE STICK CHAIN REACTION
This project uses popsicle sticks woven together to create a chain. You can spend as much time putting it together as you want, making the chain large or small. A 15 feet chain only takes 15-20 minutes. Visit http://earlylearning.momtrusted.com/2013/03/popsicle-stick-chain-reaction/ for a great video that explains how to weave the sticks together. You’ll find other great indoor games on this site as well.
CREPE PAPER LASER MAZE
Kids love to play spies, ninjas, etc. so to have their own laser maze in the hallway is super cool and really FUN! You just need some red crepe paper and some tape. You can create it for them or have them help with the process. Tape them high, tape them low and all ways in between. You may have to do some adjusting as they actually navigate through it. You want it to have an appropriate level of difficulty but you also want it to be doable so they can feel successful at it.
