One of my great passions in life is the love of reading. I still remember receiving my first library card and how thrilled I was! An entire library filled with wonderful, marvelous books and I could choose any one I wanted and take it home with me – Paradise!
Growing up we always had plenty of books in the house. Both parents loved books and learning and passed that down to all of the children in the family. To this day our idea of the perfect present is a book, whether we receive one or gift one to someone else.
What better gift can you pass along to your children? If you get into the habit of reading to them when they’re small (or making up fabulous adventures and relating them at bedtime) they’ll develop an appreciation for reading and engaging their imagination. Instead of spending money to buy the latest electronic gizmo, visit the library with your child and get them a card. Open their eyes to the world!
